Jim Jenkins is Senior Vice President of Huffines Communities. His duties include market research and land acquisition for new Huffines master-planned communities. Jim also provides strategic planning and builder programs for Viridian, a 2,300 acre in-fill master-planned community located in Arlington, Texas.
Prior to joining Huffines, Jim served as Vice President of Acquisitions for Shea Homes Active Lifestyle Communities. His duties included market research, land location, contract negotiation, financial analysis, and due diligence for new Trilogy by Shea Homes active adult communities across the United States. Jim led their successful entry into the Orlando and Las Vegas markets.
Previously, Jim co-founded Newland Communities and served as President of its Texas and Arizona divisions, and later as corporate Senior Vice President of Strategic Acquisitions. Jim completed the land acquisition, planning, entitlement, development, and builder programs for fourteen large-scale master-planned communities.
Jim holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of Houston Law Center, and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin. He is licensed by the State Bar of Texas.
Jim serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors for The DeLay Foundation for Kids, the funding charity for the Rio Bend foster care campus in Richmond, Texas. He is also a past president of the Greater Houston Builders Association.
